Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Koshio account whenever you want. You do not need our permission, you do not have to give a reason, and there is nothing to wait for.

Fastest: from the app

Open Koshio and go to Profile → Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. You will be asked for your password once, because this cannot be undone. The moment you confirm, it is gone.

If you no longer have the app

If you cannot reach the app, write to info@koshio.app. Please send it from the email address on the account: that is the only practical proof the account is yours. We do not act on deletion requests from other addresses, because anyone could then have someone else's account deleted.

We delete the account within 30 days of receiving the request.

What is deleted

When your account goes, all of this goes with it:

• Your account and sign in details
• Your profile: username, avatar, colour, city, and any body measurements you entered
• Every run: routes, distances, times
• Every territory you claimed
• Club memberships, posts and comments you wrote, event responses
• Friendships and your block list
• Your notifications and your device's notification address

What stays

Territories you lose are not handed back to anyone, they disappear from the map entirely. There is one exception and we would rather state it plainly: if a report was filed about you, or you filed one, that record may remain as moderation history. The link to your identity is cut, so it no longer says who you were.

Your data may sit in server backups for a short while longer; backups are overwritten as they rotate.

Taking a break instead

If you just want to disappear for a while, you can freeze your account (Settings → Danger zone → Freeze account). A frozen account is invisible on the map, in the leaderboards and in search. Signing back in unfreezes it and you lose nothing.
